Current Health & OFA Test Results

Responsible breeding is very important to us. That's why we have taken the time, effort and financial commitment to testing our canines. If you have any questions regarding the tests or their results please feel free to contact us using the email link at the bottom of the page.

Genetic Testing for Diseases

Our canines have undergone complete genetic testing to ensure that your puppy will be free of symptoms or afflictions of the all the current test options designed for Labrador Retrievers. I'll get to listing in detail many of those diseases on another page as I continue to update and inform our customers on this website. We believe customers make better choices when they know more about what they are buying. Buying from a Breeder that cares about the quality of puppies is very important when you understand what diseases that can affect puppies of untested parents. Many diseases can be avoided as they require 2 recessive genes to pass the disease to perspective offspring.

Here at Field & Family labradors we use Embark for all our testing needs. Embark is a well known and respected genetic testing company. To ensure our dogs are healthy and will produce puppies of the best health we chose both the DNA Health and Genetics test kit, as well as the DNA Breed test kit.  In this way we are able to proudly state that our labradors are healthy and won't produce puppies with unwanted genetic diseases. We can also proudly say our canines are 100% Labrador Retrievers
